This course introduces the concept of sustainability and sustainable development within the context of tourism, with a specific focus on responsible tourism practices. Students will explore and critically analyze the core principles of sustainable tourism and their practical applications from the perspectives of both destination managers and tourism businesses. A key objective of the course is to deepen students’ understanding of the theoretical foundations and real-world practices of environmental management in tourism, while also examining the challenges and strategies related to the economic and social dimensions of tourism sustainability.
