The trend of global trade liberalization is irresistible, even though its development is only sometimes ongoing. Our economy is actively integrating with regional and world economies. Along with the advantages of this context, one of the challenges hindering the healthy development of the market is (i) the expansion of unfair competition practices in business operations of enterprises and (ii) the abuse of market power restraining free competition. In this context, the Competition Law mission, which is to protect competition freedom and fair trade, plays an increasingly important role in the general development of the economy.
This course examines the competition law provisions of Vietnamese Competition Law, considering the policy framework behind the law and the current policy debates surrounding competition regulation. Topics include (1) the control of cartels, anti-competitive arrangements, abuse of monopoly power and dominant market position, and control of M &A. (2) The regulation of unfair trade practices, (3) competition proceedings.
